The imageCLASS D480 - The Latest Copier from Canon

True to form Canon has now come out with a copier that addresses the needs of small business and home offices.

A print and copy speed of up to 23 pages per minute, and a letter sized output, makes the imageCLASS D480 a one of a kind copier, whose first print and copy pages are out in around 9 seconds.

The front loading paper cassette of the D480 is capable of holding 250 sheets and these are fed through the Automatic Document Feeder. The imageCLASS D480 is configured for copying documents of size up to 8.5 x 14 inches. What's more the machine also comes with a USB 2.0 Hi- Speed Interface, which goes a long way in increasing its technical efficiency and usage.

It's a multi-functional copier, and the difference and evolution lies in the fact that several functions can be accomplished at the same time. This means that you have an output mode that takes care of the process of copying, printing and receiving of faxes, while the input mode is used for the process of copying, faxing and scanning.

In an effort to reduce the wastage of paper the imageCLASS D480, can not only print document on both sides of the piece of paper but also the incoming faxes can be printed accordingly. It also offers a new and improved scanning resolution at 9600 dpi and a 24 - bit - color for the same. It has a Single Cartridge System with just one cartridge holding three important components, which are the drum, development unit, and the toner.

HP - Copier Rivals Beware!

The New Edgeline technology used in the HP copiers seeks to give a big boost to the fortunes of HP copiers and its new multifunction printers are all set to make waves, once again in the copier market. The new and improved, high-quality print technology, which also offers the benefit of high-volumes is going to give a tough fight to the other copiers in the market and company executives are hopeful that these copiers will do very well in the office imaging segment.

HP is clearly the leader, when it comes to single-function printers; however the competition is tough when it comes to multifunction printers, where it faces stiff opposition from copiers from Xerox, Konica Minolta, and Ricoh. With the new technology, the company aims to increase its percentage share of the market and thus add to its overall market share in the copier market.
